Wastewater treatment
and biogas plants

At this type of plant gas detectors are needed typically for the detection of methane, hydrogen sulphide and petrol (gasoline).

In connection with ATEX risk assessment you determine where an explosive mixture might potentially occur.
This would typically apply to digesting tanks, gas treatment systems, sludge drying, etc.

Petrol (gasoline) detectors are often used at treatment plants in connection with inlet works in order to ‘capture´ possible oil/petrol (gasoline) leaks in the sewage systems.

Hydrogen sulphide is formed in connection with decomposition of organic matter under anaerobic conditions – occurring e.g. in sewers and pump wells. Hydrogen sulphide is extremely flammable and very poisonous even at low concentrations.
