Teaching facilities very often use bunsen burners in tehir physics laboratories. This provides a potentiel possibility of gas leakage into a non-ventilated room and thus the risk of explosion.
Typically either propane (LPG) or natural gas is used in these laboratories which means that the detector position should be considered carefully.
Propane is a heavy gas and methane is a light gas.
